Summer Senior Send-Off by Raphael Ryan Malilay

One blistering summer day in April, the ABM family got together to send-off their beloved seniors and induct their new officers. Held at the beautiful home of current Externals officer Faye Maramag, the send-off/induction involved wonderful food, moving speeches, and grand performances by the non-graduating members of Chambers 33, 34, and 35.

New members, old members, graduating members, and alumni alike gathered and bonded over the food (a full-fledged feast with isaw, steak, and more), reminiscing about unforgettable days and memories past while looking forward to the future.

As is the tradition, the induction of officers was prefaced by the turnover of the outgoing committee heads to those replacing them, with giving of gifts both material (in the form of heirlooms passed on from generations past) and immaterial – speeches containing lessons learned and invaluable advice for the coming school year.

Highlights of the send-off include the chamber performances – dancing to Katy Perry by Chamber 33, a medley of singing and dancing by Chamber 34, and a video by Chamber 35 – and, of course, the much-awaited marriage of outgoing ABM President Paul Repolona to outgoing vice-president and membership committee head Demi MeƱez, as presided over by JP Reyes. The latter, in fact, involved a special treat in the form of the latest in wedding fashion from none other than the House of Ganzon, whose last release was during the Culminating Activity of Chamber 35.

Finally, and all too soon, the remaining members bade good-bye, singing a song about jet planes and leaving on them, a song about holding like you’ll never let go.

Bon voyage, seniors; we hate to see you go.
